South Power: Healing

In the South Direction of the Great Medicine Wheel of the New Earth, one workshop in a 4-part series, we encounter the energy of the gentle Deer and the powerful healing energy of the Sun.  In North American traditions, the South traditionally holds the energy of Mother Earth in her full and glorious Summer adornment.  The Great Central Sun sits high in the sky and reaches out with power and love to his consort, Earth and all their children.  The keynotes of the South are trust, healing, deep knowing, personal growth, and forging beauty out of our personal stories.  In this weekend workshop, we will build a Great Wheel on the Earth and learn and develop the following skills:
  • How to trust and read our more subtle senses in and around the body to read messages from Mother Earth, the Spirit Realms, and our own Central God-Self,  our Beloved I AM Presence.
  • How to work with and identify the energy centers of the Light Body and how they correspond and respond to the Earth Wheel.
  • How to use prayer and meditation in our daily lives to foster healing, balance and wholeness.
  • How to use soul talk and shaking medicine to access the primordial energy of Mother Earth for the development of intuition and spontaneity.
  • How to harvest the creative life force of the Great Central Sun through art, fire, and community ritual in service of personal, community and planetary healing.
  • How to create a personal mesa or medicine bundle to carry the teachings and energies of the South direction of the Earth Wheel into our daily lives.
  • How to dance with the Wheel on the Earth to send healing to Mother Earth and the planet, as a whole.

In the East Direction, we emerge out of death into a new dawn infused by spirit and oneness.  We are assisted by the big vision of Eagle/Hawk who is able to fly high above the Earth and closest to the Sun.  From this vantage point, we can see with the eyes of the heart and thus are able to penetrate the illusion of human life to see the larger purpose and meaning of all that is.  We are reborn with a deep knowing of our interconnection with all things and have a new sense of responsibility for the fate of the planet and all its inhabitants.

In this workshop, we will learn:

  • How to connect with the energy of the Great Central Sun to illuminate our minds and bodies.
  • How to deepen our connection with a higher power and the energy of transcendence in all that we do.
  • How to use the Gold Flames of Illumination and the Blue Flame of Purity.
  • How to step into and hold a vision of hope for the future.
  • How to honor the transcendent energies of the Earth Wheel through silence and song.
