MettaKnowledge for Peace merges current understandings from the western sciences of the effects of violence on the body, mind and emotions with spiritual understandings of the human journey to alleviate suffering from diverse traditions around the world as a way to support individuals working on personal growth, as well as educators, activists and professionals working with populations directly affected by violence.
Even though your organizations may be working in service of fostering peace–whether dealing with the effects of war in the world outside us or with problems of interracial tensions and discrimination in the workplace–you may be grappling daily with the effects of violence in subtle or overt forms on your employees. Of if you do not work in such contexts, you may find your life is filled with conflict and stress, internal or external.
MettaKnowledge for Peace builds individual and organizational knowledge and kindness (metta) through didactic presentations of the causes and effects of trauma as one step towards becoming more effective agents for change as individuals and an organization. Onto this foundation, an experiential understanding and development of compassion is deepened through self-reflection, structured group activities, and the teaching and development of individual and group tools that can be applied on a daily basis through the day.
If there are other areas your organization feels should be addressed within the realm of the knowledge base of the effects of Secondary Post-traumatic Stress Syndrome and the subsequent emotional and mental well being of its employees, MettaKnowledge for Peace will work with you to develop an appropriate suite of presentations, trainings and workshops.
