Healing Work with Animals

Lily will do anything for foodAnimals in our world take on many burdens and face many challenges. Like humans, they can experience trauma, abuse, neglect, abandonment, and illness.  However, unlike humans, unless they have been terribly abused, they do not lose a sense of connection with the living source of life that feeds all creation. Nonetheless, their bodies, minds, and energies can become imbalanced. Animals grieve when they have lost a loved one, they feel anxiety when circumstances change, and they struggle against aging and sick bodies, wanting like any of us, to be active and well. They also take on a great deal of our emotional baggage for us and are great teachers about our own shadows. Animal companions also work for us: they go on the front lines of human violence to help find criminals and to save people trapped by earthquakes and other disasters. They are messengers and beasts of burdens for us in times of war and they assist those with physical challenges, among other extremely important jobs. Historically, dogs and horses, in particular, have died thousands upon thousands of times for us in their jobs serving our goals.

Therefore, I founded MettaKnowledge for Peace from the beginning with the intention of working with animals and humans and of enlisting my own animal companions to help in my work. In light of their important service to us and to the world, it is vitally important to help them remain balanced and healthy on their life journeys and to heal when they are in pain of any kind.

Shamanic healing methods that work with the Luminous Energy Field (LEF), also known as the energy body or aura, are as effective on animals as on humans. Like humans, the non-human species can develop energetic blocks, can carry energies from outside sources that do not serve them, and can be borne with a tendency from their genetic line to have a predisposition to certain diseases, both emotional and physical. Animals respond far faster to work on the Light Body than humans because they do not tend to block the energy with questioning, skeptical minds. They take in the healing energy offered with gratitude and often relief. They release what is not helping them with ease. Shamanic work on the Light Body will not necessarily cure disease or avert death, but it will support the body’s own healing mechanisms and it can help ease pain, relieve symptoms, and sometimes bring an end to them. As with humans, it can also bring a greater sense of ease and peace in the midst of illness and conflict.

By working with animals companions, I also am indirectly working with their people, too. The nature of our dynamic energetic interconnection means that when someone close to you is fed with energy and brought into balance, it has an effect on those around them! My goal in working with both humans and their animal companions on whom so many rely for emotional support and love, is to serve all of us, equally.
